The Avengers
Like most I eagerly anticipated the viewing of this movie. My main motivation is due to the “thing” I have for Chris Evans he is fine and I want the whole cake and not just a slice. Second, I love the iron man franchise; Robert Downey Jr. is an actors’ actor and I stand in awe each time I see him in his element. Lastly, Scarlett Johanssen as the black widow. She did her thang in iron man 2 and I wanted to see what more she had to give.
If you haven’t seen the movie I will not give any spoilers away, I will only expound on the strong script that Joss Whedon & Zak Penn penned. It was refreshing to see a story unfold in an untraditional fashion (by Hollywood standards). Where the writers took many chiefs and made them work without making one outshine the other. They allowed the natural law of life (& their abilities) unfold and when it came down to it; no superhero tripped over themselves to make a statement. There weren’t any steamy half or completely naked women to sell the story, it sold it self and it made sense! There weren’t any formulaic writing that would often have you correctly guessing the characters next move. They immersed us in the characters and it kept us engaged every step of the way.
As I continue to work on my script, I will use this movie as a bar that I need to reach. If I use that as my objective I know that I will have a multi-million dollar success. Hats off to the writers of the Avengers you did well!
